Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Cosmetic procedures around the eyes usually involve removal of fat deposits and repositioning of the eyelids to remove signs of ageing, tiredness and rejuvenate the overall appearance. Mr Khan delivers eyelid and eye surgery to patients from many backgrounds with many reasons for wanting or needing the procedure.

Choosing Eye Surgery

Many people opt for eye surgery because they feel they look perpetually tired or they see the first signs of ageing such as lines and wrinkles appearing. Eye bags form due to lack of sleep, stress and the hectic nature of modern life and many people want to see them removed, to help give them confidence and comfort in their appearance.

As we age, the facial muscles slacken, and the skin loses its elasticity. This can result in skin collecting in folds around the eyelids, forming wrinkles and lines. Bags are formed as fluid collects under the skin. Blepharoplasty is the plastic surgery operation for the removal of eye bags and helps to combat the effects of ageing and stress.

Eye Surgery Procedure

Eyelid reduction procedure can be carried out on both the lower or upper lids, or just one if required. At the consultation stage patients can discuss their individual needs and recommendations will be made to help achieve the look the patient is hoping for.

Eyelid surgery involves removing surplus skin and fat from around the eyes where necessary. Eye bag removal is a lower eyelid operation as bulging fat and fluids below the eye can be removed, alongside excess skin to smooth out wrinkles and sagging. Upper eyelid procedures involve removing wrinkles and lines usually, with incisions made in the natural creases of the upper lids to tighten muscles and smooth any loosened skin.

The procedure is usually a day case and most patients experience a little discomfort but nothing acute. Some bruising and swelling is usual, but this settles within the first week to ten days of the recovery appearance. Mr Khan’s surgery expertise ensures scarring is minimal and kept as hidden as possible.

Combining Eye Surgery with Other Cosmetic Procedures

Many patients attending Mr Khan’s clinics do not have a specific procedure in mind. Eye surgery may be a recommendation alongside other procedures to help achieve the appearance the patient is hoping for.

Working with a professional and experienced team Mr Khan helps all patients select the most suitable procedures for their circumstances after a full and thorough consultation.
